Animal Collective
5/21/01 Houston 5/28/01 Sacramento 6/3/01 Nashville DANSE MATINEE NTSC DVD Approximately 90 Minutes These are 3 early animal collective shows back from when they were a 3 piece (Panda Bear, Avey Tare, The Geologist). All the songs that i recognized are from the Danse Manatee album. I accquired these through trades so I dont know all the details. Thanks for sharing...
The footage is pretty good- nice and close with no obstructions but dark at times. It looks to be low in generations too, but the audio is auto level and narrow in bandwidth, yet my player says it's 5.1 stereo. All 3 look to be taped by the same person. 5/21/01 Houston clocks in around 31 min, 5/28/01 Sacramento clocks in around 21 min 6/3/01 Nashville clocks in around 19 min and looks to be edited. Each performance is distinctly different from each other, and I think only one song is played twice out of all 3 events. The video definately has an amateur feel to it, but then with an average of 20 people in the audience at each event, I don't think I could expect much more. All in all, if you're curious to see what Animal Collective are like live, it's worth watching once. I don't expect this DVD to be played very often in my player... Gavin orbaddict@yahoo.com
