01. you 1995-12-01 stockholm 02. creep 1994-05-27 astoria 03. how do you? 1993-06-04 goteborg 04. stop whispering 1995-12-01 stockholm 05. thinking about you 1995-12-01 stockholm 06. anyone can play guitar 1995-11-06 cambridge 07. ripcord 1994-06-26 glastonbury 08. vegetable 1995-03-24 london 09. prove yourself 1993-02-23 paris 10. i can't 1992-xx-xx unknown sbd 11. lurgee 2003-10-09 nyc 12. blow out 1995-11-06 cambridge this is the first in a series of at least nine cds designed to thank the radiohead lossless trading community, specifically the radiohub and all who tape and seed the shows i've accumulated. the radiohub can be found on the direct connect (dc++) network. info and links to find software are at www.radiohub.wikidot.com tracks were selected by joebreslin, with invaluable help and additional kibbitzing from pancakebunny and keir. though If you don't like one of the picks...blame joebreslin. all lineage info for each particular source can be found on the hub. all sound editing was done by joebreslin. lineage is: joebreslin's radiohub share-----> wav----> edit with adobe audition 3.0 -------> tlh to flac (level 8) ----->you! this would not have been possible without gdub's compilation of setlists or the radiohead discography & track resource (http://www.rhtrack.com/). gdub's compilation of setlists can be found on the radiohub. please do not seed this series to dime, as it will contain several satellite broadcasts. do not sell any of the volumes in this collection by any means. do not convert this collection to mp3 or any lossy format except for personal use (to quote formengr: if you're going to destroy the sound of some ultra-spiffy high-end rigs by encoding and spreading them via poorly encoded mp3's, please keep them on your own computer and not dilute the tradepool. the man thanks you.) much love and many thanks to the hub and to all tapers and sharers. enjoy the tour! joebreslin seeded first to the hub on 2008-04-28

A proposal
Unfortunately I have problem to stay in the hub (dc++) due to low upload bandwidth and the fact that the best collectors complete their available ports immediately when connected
I have appreciated bit-torrent filesharing because imho enhance the chance to obtain and share what you like It would be great if someone could prepare more torrents (one for each year or period) with the complete collection available on the hub With the common torrent clients anyone could choose the missing recording... Anyway thank you for this appreciated collection

the advantage to dc++ system is that you can make EVERYTHING in your collection available. it requires some more patience, especially if you're waiting for something that's rare, but you won't wind up with a dead torrent because someone wanted to share something new, and it's much more community oriented than the 'click-download-bye' of bittorrents.

My suggestion (to have the "whole" Radiohead live collection on bit-torrent) is not different from what you say: "you can make EVERYTHING in your collection available" (and it is not incompatible with it! one can direct the same folders to both dc++ and bit-torrent). The difference is that when I have downloaded a show in dc++ I CAN choose to not share it again for others (hit-and-run?), in bit-torrent I MUST share it while downloading (and it would be fair, of course, to continue also when completely downloaded). Bit-torrent allows also to monitor how many users are still interested in a recording and gives the chance to the community to help them out jumping on the torrent if not seeded Thank you again for your fascinating project

well, within about 2 hours of me seeding these sets to the hub, they're held by 5 or more people, who become sources for others to download from, and jump on seeding here to speed people here up.
What I'll say is the dc++ network is more personal, you're able to get help in realtime. It's not as slow as you make it out to be, unless you're running a bunch of torrents at the same time and netlimiting one or the other helps out there. You're not going to pull 400kb/s from any single user like you might get on a single torrent, but again, the system rewards patience. with some torrent sites (specifically dime) you can't seed more than 10 shows at a time.....what happens if an artist i like is touring? If i don't get on the torrents quickly, my ratio is going to suck, and i'll have to stop seeding if another set i want turns up. Also, torrents allow one to upload gigabytes. on the dc++ network, i've uploaded TERABYTES. you're right that the dc++ system requires slightly more vigilance (not click---->download), but i'll compare a missing file that you need to track down to one of those 'fixed reseeds' you see up on torrents. and you're right that many people can't keep an entire collection online all the time, but if i can browse one's files easily, i can just as easily browse someone's offline list and ask him to post whatever i want. most people are more than happy to help out, same way they would on a torrent site......but it can be easier to browse a collection and ask right then and there (again, in realtime). if i thought bittorrents weren't a good way to share music, this collection wouldn't be torrented at all. what dc++ hubs are are another great way to share music with many benefits that torrents don't have.
