How to Upload a Show
(Much easier & quicker than it looks)
2. Create a folder within PLG for your show & drop all your WAV files in the folder.
3. If seeding an audio show, download flacfrontend (wav conversion to flac) or DBpoweramp (more conversions but may need to pay after trial)
Run Setup & Install. Open shortcut on Desktop - you will see this (if not audio, skip to step 7):

4. Drop your media folder in the FLAC frontend window, then select Encode in the lower right (we recommend you choose "Delete input files"
or make a new folder such as LIVESHOW-flac & drop your complete flac files in it when your flacs are done.
Flacs are used b/c they are MUCH smaller than the full WAV file (faster uploading), but can be decompressed to full quality.
5. Make a text file with show date, setlist and source lineage, if you know it, using notepad - a great source for setlists can be found here.
Save the text file into your flac folder. Here's an example of a good .txt file:

6. Download hksfv (md5 utility). Install & run.
Goto File > New > MD5 File --> browse to your show folder with the txt file in it & hit OK - this will generate an MD5 file.
(checks integrity of the download for people receiving the files):

Your folder is ready for seeding! Now to make the torrent file & seed it.
7. Download Droptorrent zip from us.
Unzip the folder (right click & "extract here" - if you need help unzipping, download winzip - free "evaluation" version).
The contents of the extracted DropTorrent folder should look something like this -
l
8. Take the DropTorrent shortcut (the 2kb shortcut file) & put it on your desktop. To be certain, also right click DropTorrent.exe & choose send to desktop (create shortcut).
8a. If you create the torrent with a program other than droptorrent, make sure you add the PLG tracker: http://www.purelivegigs.com:2710/announce (our downloadable droptorrent has the info in it already)
9. Just take any show folder you want to make a torrent for and drag that file onto the Doroptorrent shortcut, let go & it will start making the torrent file for you.
The torrent file will end up in the PLG folder (or 1 level above the folder you used if you have a different folder).
10. Take that torrent file & make a New Thread in the Audio or Video sections at PLG.
Use the format Bandname / MM.DD.YY / Venue or City / Format (FLAC, PAL DVD, etc) in the thread title.
Include as much info about the show, such as setlist + source lineage as you have - a great source for setlists can be found here.
One good method is to cut & paste the info right from the text file you created.
Attach the torrent file you made to the post using the "Manage Attachments" button --> browse to your torrent file & hit upload.
Please attach a :30 128k mp3 audio sample or screen captures for video (attached/uploaded thru the "Manage Attachments" button).
Close "Manage Attachment" window & press "Submit New Thread".
11. Important Step! - Take the torrent file you attached to the thread, right click & save as to your desktop (you can save as YOURFILENAME-2 or just save over your original torrent file).
You need to do this so PLG links you to the file & gives you upload credit for your ratio.
12. Download ABC Bittorrent client then run Setup & Install.
You can also run the excellent Bittorrent client
Open ABC Bittorent Client from your Desktop shortcut - It will look something like this:

13. Go to File > Preferences & you will see the upload setting - we recommend you set these all to 0 for maximum, but sometimes you may want to limit your max upload rate.
Change these settings-
Seeding Options - Unlimited upload
Queue - Maximum # of simultaneous downloads (more than 2)
Disk - Set Default Download Folder (browse using "..." to your PLG folder
You may want to change what stats are displayed under Columns

14. Drop your torrent file from your thread onto the ABC window - it will immediately ask you where the folder is:
Click your PLG folder, then OK (if you have the folder somewhere else, always browse to 1 level above the show folder -
i.e. if the path is C:\Programs\Downloads\GREATLIVESHOW - send it to C:\Programs\Downloads\).
ABC will find your folder & say "Checking" in BT Status column - it will check it until it gets to 100%, then say "Completed/Seeding" - You're seeding!
Note: In some rare cases you have to hit stop then start again after it gets to 100%, or right-click the torrent while it is started and choose "Use Super-seed mode."
IF ALL ELSE FAILS &/or it does not say checking, just hit stop, then right click on the torrent & towards the bottom choose
"Changel Download Directory" & browse to 1 level above your media folder
You will not start uploading until someone else grabs the file & starts downloading...

You're Done!
